We are seeking a seasoned Factory Accountant with a strong background in the apparel sector to join our factory located in Biyagama EPZ. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, a proven track record in the apparel industry, and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Responsibilities
- 
- Cost Control and Analysis: Monitor and analyze costs associated with freight, overtime, transport, inventory, and third-party logistics providers. Identify areas of potential cost savings and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
 
 
- 
- Inventory Accounting: Oversee the accounting for inventory, including the valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions.
 
 
- 
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cost reports, budget reports, and financial statements. Present financial information to management and make recommendations based on financial analysis.
 
 
- 
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, with a particular focus on costs related to freight, transport, inventory, and third-party logistics providers.
 
 
- 
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in the factory's operating and accounting procedures.
 
 
Requirements
- 
- Proven experience as a Factory Accountant, Cost Accountant, or similar role in the apparel sector.
 
 
- 
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
 
 
- 
- Experience with freight, transport, and inventory accounting.
 
 
- 
- Familiarity with third-party logistics provider management.
 
 
- 
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office.
 
 
- 
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
 
 
- 
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
