The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured at our Biyagama EPZ facility meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. This role involves developing and maintaining the factory’s quality management systems, leading the QA teams, coordinating internal and external audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting customer satisfaction through effective root cause analysis and corrective action processes.

The Quality Manager reports directly to senior management and works closely with the Production, Technical, and HR departments to build a strong culture of quality, discipline, and accountability throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all factory-wide quality assurance activities in line with company SOPs and audit systems.

  • Oversee incoming yarn, fabric, and accessory inspections, ensuring conformance to approved standards.

  • Supervise in-line and end-line inspections in knitting, linking, finishing, and packing to maintain quality consistency.

  • Ensure compliance with AQL, GOTS, and metal control requirements, maintaining required audit performance levels.

  • Lead and develop the Quality Department team through training, performance management, and daily coordination.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints and failed audits, implementing effective corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce rework, wastage, and end-line rejections.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and communication with internal departments and external inspectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile or Garment Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.

  • Strong technical knowledge of knitwear production, inspection standards, and buyer quality requirements.

  • Proven experience in AQL systems, GOTS compliance, and ISO or similar quality management frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a results-oriented mindset.

  • Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and quality reporting tools.
